Gobi, in Mongolian means “semidesert”, much of it is not sandy but is covered with bare rock. Measures 1,610km form southwest to northeast and 800km form north to south, Gobi occupies an arc of land 1,295,000km2, making it fifth largest desert in the world, and Asia’s largest.
The image is taken on my way from Badain Jaran to Ejina Qi, along the edge of Gobi.
