A Simple Portrait

This is a shot made on one of my favorite model, Jenna.  I have worked with her many times that she has became very relaxed in front of the camera with me, which is appreciated.
The shot was made during the production of Romrawin Campaign, a skin and beauty client and require the model with total relaxation and she just did it.
Shot with Hasselblad H3D-39II + HC 100/2.2.

Kitty Lover

A recent work shot at Studio SOTA 50, for Hello Kitty,  a cult icon, and is growing up along its fans.
The production was set up to cater ranges of personalities of end users, to grow its brand image beyond common recognition, and of course the ultimate goal is continue to sell - by associating its fan with the icon and discarding age.
The shot was in fact relative easy because the creative idea and image design has done most of the works and shall be credited more - to the mind behind the production - Kanjana Chaiwatanachai.

Faces

It was a normal afternoon, in Chiangmai, Thailand. Feeling somewhat odd when the scene caught my eye as I spotted the lovely baby wrapped in the monk's arm. I quickly pick up my Sony NEX-5 for some snapshots. After a few shots, the monk turned away to enter the house while the baby's curiosity eyes fixed at me, when the steel door closed I saw this even more interesting frame and quickly snap this image before the they disappeared into the room.

A time with herself

Shot at the beautiful Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi Chiangmai on the new year day.  The bamboo basket structures wrapped with flowers were used in the New Year Eve Gala of previous night, scattered in a quiet corner of the grand garden of the hotel property to be organized later.
I spotted a lady sat herself with the bamboo structyres around her, serene and tranquil, enjoy the moment with herself with glimpse of smile.  It was a perfect moment.

Eye Contact

The French say, 'Les yeux sont le miroir de l'dme (The eyes are the mirror of the soul)., makes the best remark of this image, taken at Changburi Resort & Spa, Ko Chang, Thailand.  This image would have much less impact should the beautiful model without such piercing eyes as they are penetrating the camera lens. 
Shot with a Canon 1Ds II camera attached with EF 35/1.4L, I was able to position myself lower and close enough to the model to reach the composition I need for this shot. The shot was made minutes after I finished my beauty shot on the model and since she was already in the bathtub, and naked, I asked the model to give me this pose for my own image archive, and for her, and she did a great job!

Old Man

This image was taken in a remote Hmong village in Chiangmai, northern Thailand.  Hmong, some regard them as the descendant of Mongol's, scattering among northern part of Thailand, beautiful people.
There are a few Hmong villages I visited often over the last 10 years or so, usually around New Year time that I have long enough holiday to drive around the northern region of Thailand.
The image was taken during Hmong's New year, a festival kind of celebration.  I was told the old man is over 90 years old, although I could not be sure but he sure looked rather aged. Sitting in front of a large wok as if he is proud of his own age, I snapped the image with a Canon 1Ds III + EF 85/1.2L. 

Ploy

This is an image taken on the young and lovely Thai model, Ploy, who Steve McCurry called his "new muse"!
It was taken last Sunday at the Jim Thompson Thai House & Museum, an easy afternoon, and a very casual environment.  I have in the past worked with Ploy for some commercial works and thought it might be good if she is to be photographed by the master, so the arrangement is made, although just a rather short session.
Steve McCurry was obvious impressed and inspired by Ploy and needless to say Ploy was thrilled.  Afterall, on the catwalk or in front of camera in studio or location for commercial work is a total different experience compare to shot by an internationally known portrait master whose works graced the cover of National Geography and other publishing for countless times.
Not prepare to shoot for this particular time but I have a Sony NEX-5 with me so while Ploy was taken a short rest, I took this snapshot!
